abstract acrylic pour paintings on canvas
When I paint I love to allow the paint to do the work, that is, the experience of 'me - Melinda' getting out of the way and letting the mindless spacious awareness of being have its play.
This series of abstract paintings are an exploration of this and hence called the 'consciousness' series.
Each canvas started with adding texture and/or shapes, then a gentle, almost meditative blending of oils to the background, with finally a child-like play of enamel paint pour, drip, splash until the moment arrived, and the outward artistic expression ceased.
It's like being a voyuer to the creative process.
